Glerárkirkja is one of over 280 congregations around Iceland that belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland (ELCI).
You are welcome to come to the church for a Sunday service or to seek counsel with the pastors or deacon. You can do this without being formally a member of the church. You should seek out the pastor or staff in the church if you have any questions.
There are two preconditions for joining the church formally, baptism and registration. The ELCI recognizes baptism done by other churches in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit. If you want to become a member of the church you should contact a pastor near you and discuss this with him. Registration is done by Þjóðskrá, the Central Registration Office where you can find forms in Icelandic.
